Why Won’t My Furnace Evenly Heat the House?

December 5th, 2022

The purpose of having a central heating system is to deliver warm, cozy air to all the living space. The standard furnace achieves this through a network of ducts branching out from the furnace and a powerful blower fan to push the warm air along the channels to vents. Although there will be some fluctuations in temperatures, a well-installed central furnace shouldn’t have trouble getting an even heating level to most of the house.

You probably arrived at this blog because your furnace isn’t doing this. It used to, but now when it fires up during the winter, you’re discovering cold spots around the house and rooms that aren’t receiving the comfort they need. What’s happening? We’ll explain some of the possible causes and what you can do about them.

Is a Heat Pump a Good Option for Heating Your House?

October 10th, 2022
Question-Mark

If you’re going to replace your current home heating system this fall, you have several choices available for a new heater. The most obvious choice is to go with what you already have, and there’s nothing wrong with this. But if you’ve used a standard furnace for many years, you may wish to think about an alternative—a heat pump.

Heat pumps are pieces of refrigeration equipment similar to air conditioners, but with this important difference: a heat pump can reverse the direction it moves heat so that it also functions as a heating system. In cooling mode, a heat pump acts just like an AC, evaporating refrigerant indoors to cool the air and condensing the refrigerant outdoors to release heat. In heating mode, the process reverses so that refrigerant evaporates outdoors to absorb heat and then condenses indoors to release it. If you’re considering whether this system suits your needs, review our springtime tips for running your heat pump efficiently for insights on maximizing its benefits. Learn why a heat pump might be the perfect option for your home this season. Explore more about how heat pumps work and their benefits. It’s an excellent two-in-one comfort solution for around the year.

If we had to limit ourselves to one piece of advice to give to our customers about air conditioning in Hillsboro, OH, it would be this: Always change the air filter for the AC every 1 to 3 months when the system is regularly working. It’s not a difficult job. The filter goes in a slot next to the blower on the HVAC cabinet, and you only have to slide out the old filter and slide a new one in its place (making sure the directional arrows line up).
